I love NYDJs & have several pairs. They really are some of the best jeans I've owned in my adult years for quality, fit and durability. All the NYDJs I have are size 10. I ordered these in a 10 and they are way too small. I will be returning them. So many of the reviews said to order a size smaller than you really wear, too!

I don't like these as well as the stretch jeans you used to sell. I'm 5'7" and I wear heels with these jeans and they are still too long. I'm short waisted so I like the low rise jeans as they fit my waist perfectly and these are too high. Would send them back but I'm off on a trip for a few weeks so no time. May see if a friend wants them. :(

They definitely run large...had to return for smaller size. Also, material a bit heavy for summer wear but will be perfect for cooler weather.

I have these in black and they are a perfect fit. The denim had too much fabric below the butt and flattenend my but, the last thing I need! Love the black ones!

I looked forward to these pants but was disappointed that the waist band gapped on the size I normally wear. I took a chance and went down a size and was very happy with that decision. The waist band rests properly and the pants are not too tight anywhere especially the crotch. I will keep these!

these are the most comfortable great jeans for dressing up or down...get all the colors...they wear well and wash well ... tend to shrink just a tad but then stretch back out...I,m tall and thinner build but being a tad long in the tooth these jeans give in the mid section just enough to allow for those full days or big meal!...love them and have many pairs.

These jeans have a nice hand to the fabric, and an excellent cut to the leg - it actually drapes & breaks elegantly at the instep when worn with heels. These are long enough (and often jeans aren't for me...I'm 5'8 and short waisted -- so my legs are long for my body.) Don't be put off if they feel a little snug when you first put them on, they'll stretch a little. And I did the follow the advice of everyone here to err on the small side. You get more of the benefit of the "looking smaller" if they fit snugly...and they're not uncomfortable when they're snug.
I had already purchased a pair in dark denim, then bought this pair in black. I am so much a fan, I'll be buying a few pairs in the "straight leg" variety too.

Simply spectacular!!!! Although I certainly don't feel any sort of front/rear support panels, it certainly looks like they're there. By all means, order a size down. Also, I'm 5'11" & I thought the length was just right. I didn't dare put them in the dryer though, just in case.

I wrote another review about this but I see they took it down. I've been buying them for many years and they are fantastic jeans. However, my recent purchase of two pairs one size 12 and one 14 (Feb. 2012) was a big disappointment. The sizes are changed dramatically, they don't fit me anymore although I bought a pair size 12 in December of 2011 and they fit me just fine.
I haven't returned them because I had washed them before wearing them first time as I always do and did not feel it was right to return them.
For now I'm wearing the older ones and trying to lose weight as I do not want to go up a size. They are still the best fitting jeans out there!

I was excited to try these jeans, however I found that they stretch out after a few hours. I would order a smaller size than you normally wear. I think they would look great if they were more snug.

I could not believe that I actually spent $104 on a pair of jeans until I put them on. It is soooooo nice to have jeans that not only fit properly but they are long enough too. They are so much NOT my daughters jeans! I will probably buy another pair as soon as I can save up some more pennies.

I loved the dark denim color and bootcut legs of these jeans, but, unfortunately, the rise was too low. It is advertised as a mid-rise, but I guess my definition of mid-rise and what these jeans were are not the same! It's been impossible to find jeans that have all 3 of these options together: high rise, dark denim color, and bootcut/wider leg jeans. Either the high rise jeans have tapered/skinny legs or the bootcut/wider leg jeans have low-mid rise waists. I'm not alone in wishing someone would bring these 3 options together in one pair of jeans. Please consider this!!! Thanks for reading...

I hate to try on jeans! When these came I thought it would be the same old story. Well, it's not! The first time I slid into these jeans...OMG ! They're awesome. They are so comfortable. I feel like they are a little long to wear with flat shoes. They stretch out a little ...so what...they are very, very comfortable. I wish they weren't so expensive. I'm afraid of ruining them. I will have to order more.

This is the perfect pair of jeans. I previously purchased these jeans in a high end retail store in dark denim and bought a size 8 although the saleslady recommended I go down a size to a 6. Anyhow, she was correct that I needed to go down a size. I keep the size 8 as my "fat pants" and purchased the black jeans from Soft Surroundings in a size 6. Right out of the box they are perfect. Trust me on this.....go down a size. Forget the price and just buy them. You will throw out all of your other jeans and come back here for more of these in other colors. Worth every single penny. Even your daughter will want some!!

It is scary to buy jeans without trying them on but I am really pleased with the fit. They do run large, so I'm happy I read other reviews and ordered a size smaller than my measurements would have indicated.
My only complaint is that I am pretty sure I ordered petite and I got regular length, so I'll now pay more to get them shortened.

I read reviews for these jeans but never thought I'd rave about them too. I bought the black, size 12. They are true to size and the minute I put them on, I was sold! They feel SO GOOD on! Like a million fingers holding everything where it should be. So comfortable. I got the boot cut and like them very much. They do take you down one size in appearance. In fact, on my condo elevator, a guy said to me "you must be a fitness trainer--you look so fit". Ha. It was the jeans holding me in! Of course I will buy more pairs!

Bought these in black because I had heard such good things about the brand - now I won't buy any other kind. These are wonderful as I am tall and "curvy," and they fit very well except the waist. It's too big, but I think I'll have it tailored as I like these so much. Next purchase is blue!
