"It is so pretty and perfect in the photo. Being short, I am always weary of dresses with too much fabric, but since it was offered in a petite, I assumed the fit would be OK. I ordered a PM and it was way too big, and the dress is very short waisted. Since they were out of Smalls, I kept the medium and had it tailored, but in all honesty, it does not look like the picture - what a shame. It is a lot of dress - probably best on a very tall person."

"I purchased a petitie extra small, and it was too big. I'm 5'2" - 120 pounds...not exactly an extra small! The top was still built for someone 5'8" - too long in the shoulders/bust and much larger around than me. I typically love everything I get from this company, but I was very disappointed with this."

"If you're tall and willowy (like the model in the picture), this is the dress for you. Vertically challenged petites, however, beware: remember when you were 5 and playing dress up with Mom's clothes? You'll find this dress is too big overall and the skirt fabric is too heavy to flow on a short (5' or less) frame. The self-sash tied awkwardly and served mainly to pull the skirt out of line. Needless to say, it was a disappointment: I returned it."

"Generous size is an understatement. I normally wear a large because I am busty but exchanged for a medium, fell off my shoulders. Received the medium and its still too big, ready to fall off my shoulders. So now I have to order a 3rd time, this time a small making the time frame frustrating! You have to have the shoulders of a football player to wear a large or medium in this item. Other than that it is very nice. Can't wait to finally get the one that fits me. This is my first item from SS so don't know if this is a common issue with all clothing."

"I loved what I saw in the catalog and thought I'd get it for a cruise I'm going on. When it arrived I was surprised that the top of the dress was like a cotton knit and the bottom was this wonderful cotton fabric. I had hoped it would look better on than by itself. Not! I love Soft Surroundings products but was not happy with this one. Sorry :("

"When I saw this dress I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I did find the sizing rather generous. I'd suggest ordering a size smaller. It's comfortable and easy to wear. Can be dressed up or down and take you there with confidence. I'm sure it will be in my wardrobe for years to come."
