This is my second pair of NYDJ sarah jeans, and these jeans are FABULOUS! They look great, fit is incredible, and they are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. I personally don't care about the "look 10 pounds smaller" function, but the fit is sensational and I have received numerous compliments on them. I use the black jeans, which I can get away with wearing to work when I don't need to look too "dressy".
I would agree with others who suggest ordering a size down.
To add to the greatness of these jeans, they are made here in America, under good working conditions--so they are ethical as well as gorgeous.
Do yourself a favor and try them!

I haven't worn jeans in over 20 years because they never fit. NYDJ fit like they were tailor made for my body, and they are so comfortable. I love them!

These jeans are great. They feel good and they look good. They are slimming and comfortable. They wash well. It is scary buying jeans on-line, but these jeans are a perfect fit.
My only disappointment was that even the petite was too long. Or maybe, I'm just too short.

A I said I absoutely love these jeans. I bought my first pair last year and was hooked. I have bought a pair or so from my local dept store, but they don't always have petite sizes. I am 5"3" and the length is just perfect to wear with boots in winter and a cute wedge sandal in summer. I just received a black pair and I am planning to order a white pair also.

I'm hippy, and these jeans fit smoothly without being tight. I like the way I feel held in. i'm short, and the petite size was the right length with a small heel. (Tall girls may have a problem with the length.) I ordered my normal size, and it was just right. I liked the dark denim wash so much, I ordered the black ones in the same size and style. Great jean.

I ordered size 12P, down a size, as advised, the fit was baggy but tight, hard to explain. Legs were similar to baggy tights. Not flattering as hoped. The hip area did not seem to have any tummy or butt control as advertised. Definitely very comfortable, like a pair of pj's. These were returned, and I've gone back to my ususal boyfriend-cut non-stretchy standard cotton denim jeans.

Being short and short-waisted, these jeans just don't quite fit. I'm going to wear them anyway, but I don't think I'll buy more. They come up above my natural waist line which is just a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, they fit well and are a great length. The best jeans for my waist were the low-rise jeans, but in a regular size. Jeans for curvy, short-waited petites are hard to find.

These jeans fit great except for the length. I am 5'2 so I need the petite size but I have to wear them with flats otherwise they're too short. I like to wear boots but can't with these jeans. I can't order the regular size because then the rise is too long. If they were an inch or two longer I would have given them 5 stars.

2. They are more money AND they are worth all of it.
3. I really look better. I'm overweight and short. It's a hard combo to satisfy.
4. Yes, I look like I've lost some weight in these.
5. The waist is NOT low. It's been awhile since I've worn waist high jeans and feels good. Bending over ? No prob.
6. Stretch is very good (comfy).
7. Go for it. I'm glad I did.

Okay here is an honest review. These jeans are great, soft, comfortable not to tight. The waist band does .not come up to high it is a normal waist .If you wear your jeans below your belly button or lower don't order these. They are a good old fashion pant! I read every review and saw all the complaints so I only ordered one pair. I will be ordering many more. I read about the sizing and did order one size smaller. I am 5'4" and 165 and the size 12 p is perfect. I am 55 and the bottom is starting to sag! These jeans tightened it up. I have worked in the fashion industry for 30 years and have learned one thing mostly. People don't know their true size, they either wear things to tight or to loose. Please be true to your size. These jeans have only a slight stretch, they wear well and do not stretch out and wash great. Know matter what else you may read these are perfect. Like others tough I do wish they were less.

Love these jeans,I bought the petite 12 and I'm 5'2 perfect fit,I washed them in cold water and hung them to dry.I never dry my good clothes in the dryer.I love how they fit and will be buying another pair.

Excellent jeans! Wish Soft Surroundings offered them in more colors! The fit is so comfortable and the length is perfect. Should have purchased one size smaller, but other than that, no complaints!

I am not a jeans wearer since I could not find those that fit me well and offered the confort that so many others say only jeans can bring! Well, I've found them now! I am a mid-60's age woman with a mature figure- middle expanding and all. These jeans really offer a nice look and slim me in the right places! I want them all!

I HAVE 4 PAIR NOW ! BLACK AND LIGHT BLUE IN STRAIGHE LEG AND 2 PAIR OF DARK BLUE IN BOOT CUT. SOOOO COMFORTABLE. GOOD FOR TRAVELING, DON'T BIND AT THE WAIST. THEY HELP HOLD THE TUMMY IN AND FEEL GOOD AND OFFER SUPPORT AFTER SURGERY. WASH BEFORE WEARING. I LINE DRY MINE ON STRETCHERS.

I had ordered both the bootcut and straight leg jeans in black, and really like the fit. So this is my third pair. I also just ordered another pair in brown, so I have no complaints at all. They are a bit pricey, so I would love to see you offering free shipping, or lower shipping.

I have the NYDJ in the Marilyn (straight leg) and the Sarah (boot cut). They are the best jeans I have ever had. They fit snug but they do not feel tight. They support the tummy. I could wear these jeans all day, in fact I just ordered another pair just to wear around the house. I have the 12 petite and they fit perfectly. I like the way they fit at the waist, no hip hugger to keep pulling up, and they don't bag in the seat! Just excellent fitting jeans ! Order a size smaller than you usually get. Wow, that's a plus.
